I qualified as a doctor in 2001 after training at Edinburgh University. As a resident doctor, I worked in a variety of roles, running the range from Anaesthetics to Renal and Transplant Medicine.
As I progressed in my career, I found I wanted to return to the broad home of General Practice. I did so, and since gaining a distinction in the MRCGP examination in 2007, I have been a full-time GP.
I continue to work in the NHS at Penicuik Medical Practice, as I have since 2010. My roles there include teaching resident doctors, running the wide-ranging chronic disease management services, and of course, offering joint injections.
I wanted to set up the Edinburgh Joint Injection Clinic to meet the emerging gaps in NHS care I could see in my own work. I am pleased to offer injections in our Clinic. I like seeing patients leave us happy, and I love hearing about successes for them.
